３．Experience planting rice

Experience rice planting and feel the growth of the rice, with a fun mud battle game to enjoy as well. Dive into the playful world of mud and have a great time!
Lunch: Gohei mochi (backed rice with sweet sesame sauce) and Tonjiru (pork with many vegetable soup)

４．Raise veggies

Step into the fields and immerse yourself in the hands-on experience of growing a variety of vegetables. Enjoy the satisfaction of harvesting fresh produce and connect with nature as you cultivate your own crops. The vegetables change with each season, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a new farming adventure throughout the year. At lunchtime, indulge in a delicious meal made from the vegetables you've grown, with seasonal harvests featured in every dish.

Check the yearly schedule on the calendar, choose the vegetables and farming activities that interest you, and make a reservation to secure your spot. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.

５．Cutting grass

Weeding is an essential part of growing rice. After a hard day's work, there's nothing better than relaxing with a bowl of chilled somen noodles. Don’t forget to cool off by the waterfall too!
For lunch, enjoy somen noodles, cold noodles, and a tasty meal made with the fresh vegetables you’ve grown (picked right from the garden that day).

６．Autumn Rice harvest

Experience the joy of the autumn rice harvest using traditional sickles! Once the harvesting dates are set, we’ll update the calendar. After reaping, try the manual threshing with old-fashioned winnowing machine ('tōmi') and get a real feel for how people worked one hundred years ago.

７．Catch the Amago (fresh water fish) and eat

８．Survival game

Enjoy a survival laser gun game by attacking opponents while hiding among the trees. For ages 10 and up. Laser guns and walkie-talkies are provided. You don't need to bring anything, but please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. If you're concerned, maybe bring changes of clothes.

About the facility

Mukunomi Adventure is located about 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours from the eastern part of Nagoya City (Meitō-ku, Moriyama-ku, Nagakute City) via regular roads (Route 363), making it a great destination for a day trip to enjoy farming activities on your way out of Nagoya. It is also just 30 minutes from the Ena Interchange on the Chūō Expressway.

In addition to the large, 100-year-old traditional house, the property includes a 50m x 30m rice paddy, a 50m x 40m field, and a planned 65m x 20m campsite area (about half the size of one soccer field). The site is surrounded by mountains, and we’ve made use of the slopes by setting up a zipline, swings, and hammocks. We’re also planning other outdoor activities like a slide, trampoline, rope walk, and various other athletic play equipment for visitors to enjoy while moving around in nature.

Being located in a secluded area, with no nearby neighbors, you can enjoy complete privacy without the worry of noise affecting others. It’s the perfect place to relax and experience nature at its finest.

Payment: Cash only to paid first upon arrival

The area is surrounded by mountains, and the nearest house is far away, so if you wish, you can enjoy karaoke at high volume (bring your own equipment; we are also preparing to provide it in the future). Without music or noise, it becomes a quiet and peaceful place. You can either spend a quiet, private moment here or have fun without worrying about making noise — the choice is yours.

Toilet/Bath: The bathroom is equipped with an modern automatic water heating system and a classic, deep stainless-steel bathtub from the Showa era. The toilet is newly renovated in March 2025 (see details in photo Gallery)

Shopping: In 15minutes by car is 7eleven, Pharmacy, Home Depo and several Super market

Onsen nearby: Inani Onsen (12:00 to 20:00 Closed on Wednesday) about 25min by car. If you want to feel the Showa era public bath this is recommended

Small children: Not for children under 10years

Stay: Private 2 to 4 people / night

Pets: Allowed but must not enter the house.

Fire: Only in designated locations (details to explained upon arrival). Ensure to completely turn off the fire before leaving

Charcoal/BBQ net etc.: To be prepared by yourself if no reserved no food

Fireworks: Only in front of pond. Must not use in other locations. Ensure to completely turn off fire before leaving

Trash: Burnable to leave in disgnated location. Cans, bottles and not burnable trash to be taken back by customer.

About Kominka Owner: Male 54years

For the past decade, I’ve been searching for a place where I could combine farming amidst nature while Motorcycle touring and hiking in various mountain in Aichi and Gifu. I frequently visited Jurō Falls and Byobu Mountain near Nagoya, and during these hiking trips, I found my connection to this land, Mukunomi. Three years ago, I began preparing to create a place where people could enjoy farming experience and enjoy the beauty of nature.
In the fields, I grow edamame, and from autumn to winter, I cultivate Daikon radish. The rice paddies are now entering 3rd year. Although they are often destroyed by wild boars, insects, and birds, the fresh vegetables are not only incredibly delicious but also truly special because of the care and effort that goes into growing them.
Stepping away from the overwhelming flow of information in the world of social media and the internet, I wanted to offer a space where people could enjoy a refreshing break in the clear, fresh air of nature. That’s how Kominka Adventure was born. May - 2025
